Born in 1945, the Finnish graphic Kari Piippo was first studied in applied arts and then to specialize in illustration and poster. He has over 30 years for theaters, cultural events, the environment, he has participated in numerous juries poster contest in the world, taught graphic design at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, has been artistic director of the Biennale Poster Helsinki from 1994 to 1998 and has received numerous international awards including the price of the Icograda International Festival Poster Chaumont in 1990. Kari Piippo is a member of AGI - Alliance Graphique Internationale.

The exhibition at grain is made from the collection of contemporary posters Chaumont when Kari Piippo, by participating in different festivals, donated two dozen posters. A gift that will complement the exhibition, some of his creations.
All are part of a formal register characterized by simplicity, use limited color and immediacy of the message: Kari Piippo, each shape and each color has a meaning. For him, the poster, embedded in the visual chaos of the city, must be "simple, sharp and incisive."
