Incredible Holiday Light Show Tree Remote

THE AMBASSADORS - an exhibition organized by the fund Dutailly

At the end of the nineteenth century, cities are attracting more and more people, very different social background. Diverse social classes there, from what we later called the "urban proletariat" to the old nobility of the ancien regime, and the Bourgeoisie, more and more present in the various economic sectors, social and cultural of the city.
public places for socialization and conviviality as cafes and cabarets where multiply meet city dwellers, rich and poor . Writers and artists of the time reflect this atmosphere, like Zola in the drinking den or Manet's Bar at the Folies Bergere . The Cabarets
meet with a huge public success, they are for artists places to show off their talents. It shows the circus, dance, singers, musicians, etc.. People came to see a show, to drink, to chat, for fun.
Theatre Ambassadors are part of these crowded places and eclectic programming, as evidenced by this exhibition brings together forty posters from Dutailly Fund.
The most famous of these posters is of course that of Toulouse-Lautrec. Aristide Bruant, the famous singer known for his attacks against bourgeois values - property, money, work, etc., - it had commissioned this poster: he understood that Lautrec was revolutionizing the art of displays. The Director of the Ambassadors Theatre Sparrow refuses but forced him to surrender by threatening to cancel all her performances. Lautrec's poster was pasted on the walls of Paris.
We will see, the scene of Ambassadors appealed to different artists to produce posters of shows. The exhibition also offers the opportunity to discover the beginnings of graphic design in France and already amazing variety of styles.
