I made this recipe Soul Food on the occasion of our little brunch with friends. But the same day I found myself with a very liquid batter, I make the malleable by adding flour, flour full, too much flour ... result, my rolls were moderately good, a bit dry. I was very disappointed so I redid the next day to understand what was wrong ... and there Oh Joy! of rolls sweet, delicious ... none!!
And I realized: actually must leave the sweet potatoes cool before being incorporated into the device ...




English, often called such rolls cookies. The word biscuit in the French language evokes a small sweet cake, but in English it is more like a soft bun. These breads are found Always on American tables and especially in Soul Food menu.

These rolls are part of the family of Quick Breads like scones , as their name implies, quick breads / that cook quickly. They do not have time to get up - because they rise when cooking with the oven heat, the leavening agent and their small size ...


Rolls Sweet Potato
- a 12 Zaine
2 cups flour + 1 tablespoon baking powder + 1 / 2 teaspoon salt + 80g butter + 1 cup mashed sweet potato + 1 / 4 cup milk
> Preheat oven to 220 °
> peel, chop and cook a good sized sweet potatoes (or 2 medium) Steam - cool
> in a bowl Combine flour, baking powder and salt
> add butter and mix (or with a KitchenAid appliance type, or with 2 knives) until dough is fairly grainy (Genus crumble)
> add sweet potatoes mashed (fork) - mix
> add milk - stir again
> cover the worktop with flour, place dough - knead gently and quickly
> flatten the dough by hand until dough is flat (1.5 cm)
> using a cookie cutter, cut circles of dough, arrange on a baking sheet and bake 12 to 15 minutes - breads should be slightly brown on top
> serve hot


(> if you make these rolls, forget not cool sweet potatoes!
> breakfast at breakfast, with butter and jam ... or to accompany the dish, these rolls are perfect
> and then, more soul food, there's no ;-))
